The tango scene is small but friendly in Helena, Montana. We are an enthusiastic non-profit organization that shares a passion for tango. This website is meant as a place for us to share information regarding tango events, technique and other tango information to help promote Argentine tango in our community. We welcome you to join us at various tango events.
Of all the dances, the Argentine Tango is unique in its construction and dynamic. Danced in a close embrace, it utilizes a free rhythmic pattern in which the dancers have to really listen to the music and interpret it on the spot. It is rather like jazz improvisation with freedom to move within a certain musical structure. It makes for a very interesting puzzle combining the elements of space and time and coordination with another person. It becomes an engaging activity which takes time to master but somehow gets under your skin in the process; thus the “passion” of Argentine Tango.
The next Level 3 class will be a three-class series on sacadas and giros, taught by Patrick Marsolek and Grace Hodges. It will be offered on Friday April 9th, 16th, and 23rd, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, followed by a practica until 9:00 pm. Please mark your calendar!

The next level 3 tango class will be on ganchos. We'll be covering follower ganchos and leader ganchos, low ganchos and high ganchos, enganches, using ganchos to express musicality, and who knows what else! Phil Robison and Grace Hodges will teach this as a two-class series on Friday March 5th and Friday March 19th, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, practica til 9:00
Tango 1 classes are a great way to start for anyone wanting to learn this wonderful dance.
Tango 2 classes are great for continuing dancers wanting to learn new moves and improve the fundamentals of their dance.
