David Caditz and Lisette Perelle are looking for four leaders and four followers for one of the tangos they're performing with Artisan Dance. The Artisan performances are at the Myrna Loy on Wed. July 30th, Friday August 1st, and Saturday August 2nd, at 8:00 pm. David said the only practice would be on Tuesday during Tech rehearsal (he doesn't know the time yet). Most of the parts are simple enough that participants could even skip the rehearsal if necessary.
Here's David's description of what they'd like:
For one of our pieces, we will have 4 couples as extras to create a bar scene. Most of the time they will be sitting at the tables talking, drinking, etc. There will be a few times when they will get up and dance - just simple steps - maybe walking or an 8-count basic. We will provide cues for when to dance and to sit. I will ask a few of the followers to dance and they will reject me. Then I will ask Lisette and we will do our performance. It will be low pressure for the extras and lots of fun!
The dress will be standard semi-formal tango, like dressing up for a milonga. A suit or black pants + dress shirt for the guys and a tango dress for the ladies - red or black would be nice. If any of the guys have a fedora, that would be great as well.
The main requirement for the extras is that they be available for all (or at least most) of the shows. Anyone who is interested in being an extra can contact me directly by email or phone.
Thank you!
