Logo Preferences

Hello everyone,

Please let us know which logo you prefer, and how strongly you feel about it.  In other words, if most Board members vote against your first choice, can you live with the other logo?  If the vote is very close, or if people feel very strongly for or against their choice, then we may need to discuss this face-to-face.  If people have a preference but are generally OK with either, we should be able to go with the majority's top choice.

If you have not seen both logo choices, here is the link to do so:  http://www.tangohelena.com/node/135

Note: there are now three choices. (Patrick)

Phil's Preference:  My preference is for the second logo, as I like the dancing figures in a more prominent position.  I also like the second logo's dancing figures better than those in the first logo, as the first logo's dancers seem more "flashy" and potentially off-putting to beginners.  I would feel fine about having either logo and would certainly not block consensus if the majority want the first logo.

Mark's Preference:  My preference is for the FIRST logo but using the dancing figures from the second logo.   I agree with Phil that the dancing figures in the first logo are too "flashy."  They do not reflect our style of Tango as much as the second figures.  I feel strongly about the first logo with the modifications I have suggested.  The first logo is contemporary, looks very professional from a marketing standpoint (but what do I know!), very stylish, and conveys a sense of dynamism missing from the second logo.  The second logo appears very suitable as a letterhead, but we should choose one logo for all marketing purposes.  It would be unreasonable for me to insist on the first logo to the extent that I would block consensus if the majority want the second logo.  But, I really like the first logo!

Linda's Preference:  I have a strong preference for the first logo, but will not block consensus.

Grace's Preference:  I strongly prefer the first logo with the dancers from the second.  (Thanks for switching the figures, Patrick.)  I wouldn't block consensus if most others wanted the second.

Logo Preferences

I prefer the first logo, and while I am neutral on which dancing pair is inserted, I would like to point out that the dancers currently there form a nice "A" with lines that look very graceful with the text font.  I would be OK with inserting the other dancers but it would be nice to see the effect first as Grace noted.  While I have a fairly strong preference for the first logo I would not block consensus if majority votes for the second.  Good job on both of these, Media committee!

Patrick's choice

I like the first logo better with the new figures, but am flexible with the other one too. - Patrick

Phil Again

How about having the first logo up twice, so we could see the first pair of dancers in place and then compare with the second pair of dancers?  Could you do that, Patrick?Err, I forgot that the other version is at the top of the website.  Still, it would be nice to have the two versions of the first logo side-by-side.Thanks, -- Phil

Chris' preference

I opt for the first logo, the on with the figures integrated as the "A". It is a great image, memorable and to-the-point -- these are hard attributes to capture and we are lucky to have the help of a designer who gets it. I won't block consensus on either logo.

linda's logo preference

I prefer the first logo as originally designed.  Somehow, the new figures, while I do like them, don't have the same pizzaz as the figure "A" dancers.

Patrick again

OK, I've put the first one back up, now we have three choices.

On looking at it again, I do thing the first option does read the easiest as an "A" in tango. Although I like the figures in the second logo better.

My vote now would be for the first choice.
