How did you like Matt Duvaneck's classes?

Hi there folks, I was just wondering how you felt about Matt's classes for TangoHelena? What did you like or dislike? What would you like to do differently if we have a day of workshops like this again?

Thanks! Patrick

Did not get the opportunity to attend his class but saw him dance at the Milonga at the Montana Club Rathskeller. I liked his style!
The new website is awesome. ~ Marco

Fun

Matt's class was lots of fun!  I enjoy seeing others' styles of teaching and dancing.

Matt Rocks

I had a great time at Matt's workshop on Saturday. But I didn't realize how good he is on his feet until late that night when Patrick led Matt in an extraordinary tango. It turns out Matt is a great follow!  In the wee hours of the morning, when followers became scarce, Matt danced elegantly with a broom, too, showing himself to be a good mime artist as well. Let's continue to bring in out-of-town teachers whenever we can. I think it works well to couple them with monthly milongas to create an all-day event. How about hosting separate morning clinics for leaders and followers, taught by local dancers, on workshop days?

Yes to more instructors and clinics.

Thanks for the comments Chris. I agree, it's great to get instruction from out of town. And, we have talked about offering separate classes for leaders and followers. I'm open to that! I also recognize needing more following experience myself! I'd love to teach a class just for leaders and/or followers...

Good Instruction, Varied Level of Challenge

I liked Matt's style, too.  I appreciated how he started with some very simple things -- like stopping the follower, or asking her to molinete around the stopped leader, and yet there were levels of complexity in these simple moves.  By the end of the day he was teaching pretty challenging colgadas and later challenging milonga steps.  Truly something for everyone at all levels.  Good job, Matt!
